PSP update 3.51
Great!!
Because what all PSP owners want is an update. Just because Sony can't produce any original content for thier own hardware they are stopping anyone from creating thier own homebrew applications.
Sony, if you want us to be loyal to your brand stop being so bloody ignorant of the people who pay your wages and start giving us something we actually want.
1. Your PSP download store is crap. I want demos released on a regular basis. not once in a blue moon.
How many games are available on the hardware? hundreds!
How many demos are available to help us make informed choices? A handfull!
Conclusion? Rubbish!
PS. How come all the music on the store is from bands we've never heard of (or want to hear)?
Have you seen Itunes? Take a look you might be surprised
2. Where are our proposed PS1 game downloads? What? They're available on the PS3 console to download? Crap! You want me to spend another £400 so i can download games that i bought years ago on a system i still own and you still expect me to give you more money for the privilage? get to ****!!!!
You allow me to download rubbish pictures from the PSP store on my P.C, why can't i buy them from there? Or at least allow a program to convert my old PS1 games to my PSP?
3. Stop releasing Firmware updates. How many people actually use the downgrader software? How many people actually use the downgrader software for piracy? Exactly.
I'm not condoning Piracy in any way but I'm not surprised that piracy is common on the system when from the start of the PSP lifespan, owners were ripped off from the very start with ports of PS2 games with no extra content or features. And as for the games we bought because they were PSP exclusive? That's right you only went and released it on PS2 a few months later.
Thanks a bunch Sony. Your taking the piss now.

Bungie: A Plea
I am a 26 year old gamer who loves First Person Shooters, owns a variety of systems from the Atari 2600 to a High End Gaming PC. The reason why i write this letter is i see you are releasing a little known game for the Next Gen Console, the Microsoft Xbox 360.
You see i have played many a game over my insignificant years from the gaming delights of E.T on Atari's wooden box to the sheer joy of Rise of the Robots on the humble Commodore Amiga (those graphics , eh?)
I bought Halo after playing the demo featuring the interesting "Silent Cartographer" map which was well designed and interesting enough that anyone who played the demo would be astounded by your amazing talents.
So how come the rest of Halo and the entire Halo 2 is filled with hateful and lazily designed levels. Instead of making clever ways to interact with the environment or AI Bungie just adds more enemies. Or the clever way that the controls are like treacle that any quick response needed to react to any kind of threat is futile. Or the Oscar winning Story? Or that terrible threat to Mankind, The Flood? Obviously a name that strikes fear into our hearts, Why not call them Soul Eaters or Nasty Things fuck, Even The Bunnies would have been more evil sounding.
But it's the game play that matters Right? Wrong
I may as well play that old family favourite "Matching Pairs" as that's all the game is: go into level, see enemy, die, remember where enemy is located , start again.
Now i remember an employee of Bungie being quoted as saying Halo is "20 seconds of fun, repeated again & again" or something like that. When the quote should of been "it's 20 seconds of fun & umpteen hours of boredom, and anger at having to do the same thing over and over again because of rubbish game design!"
So, Halo 3. let's have a look at the features.
1) Amazing Graphics
Rubbish it's the same textures but in high resolution. pfft.
2) 4 player co-op mode has just been announced.
Great, now i don't need to suffer i can make others suffer with me.
3) New Weapons announced: Flamethrower & Claymore Grenades.
Because we've never seen those in a computer game. Must have taken hours to think up.
4) a button to silence voices in online gaming
yes we've got those as well their called mute buttons
I'm not even going to continue but let's just say I'm not impressed at the proposition of fan boys defending a game that Doom did better umpteen years ago.
So Bungie prove me wrong, i know in your heart of hearts that you love me dearly for who i am and not for my money. Make the game i know your capable of, the one that would make us cry salty tears of joy and would destroy the whole gaming industry with your awesomeness that no one will make another game for fear of it not being quite as good as your god like game.
Yours,
A Gamer
PS. Anything less than Half life 3 will be met with burning effigies of Master Chief at the next E3 :p

Starcraft 2
What is probably most surprising is that it's not going to be an mmorpg like their massively successful World of Warcraft but a RTS along the lines of the first game.
The first screenshots have been released on CVG.com and they are looking impressive but it will be the game play that will make this title, especially in Korea where millions play and watch live broadcasts of matches on T.V.
Now with competition in the RTS genre from the likes of Supreme Commander & Company Of Heroes, Blizzard will no doubt pull out all the stops to make Starcraft 2 stand out from the myriad of other strategy games released on a monthly basis.

Pee-S2
"Here's a cautionary tale featuring an about-to-be destroyed Sony PlayStation 2. A proud owner of a new PS3 decided to allow partygoers to destroy his outgoing PS2, and the guy who won the honors in a drawing decided to pee all over the obsolete gaming console.
Bad idea. The PS2 was still plugged in, and because urine is an excellent conductor of electricity, the guy was instantly knocked unconscious and nearly electrocuted. He was lucky enough to be treated and released at a local hospital. That's got to hurt. Okay, so now we have this straight: It's not a PEE S2. – Charlie White"

Half Life 2 - Reality Gaming
Should we be worried?

One is a Solar Tower in Seville, Spain.
The other the Citadel in City 17, undisclosed location.
An uncannny Resemblence
The 7 hour war might be upon us sooner than we think. :p
